St Mary’s Church

A Warm Welcome

St Mary’s Church has a thriving and inclusive community of some 200 members from all ages and backgrounds with a lively programme of services, events and groups. We are situated to the west of Redbourn, just off Junction 9 of the M1 near St Albans. We are part of the Diocese of St Albans in the Church of England.

We have been awarded Silver status as an Eco Church and are part of the Inclusive Church Network. We hope that we will have the chance to welcome you in person to our church before too long. Please get in touch LINK if you’ve any questions. In 2025 we developed a new set of Vision and Values for the next three years as part of our Mission Action Plan.

We Are Open: Church Repair Work Completed

Planning Your Visit

What To Expect

When you come to St Mary’s you don’t need to bring anything with you. We hope you’ll find everything you need here. There is parking outside church and along the road outside, and we have a space indoors for those who like to roller skate or scoot to church to keep their wheels safe while we worship.

Most of our seating is pews, but we have some more comfy seats at the sides, and spaces for wheelchairs.

During our worship we usually have a news sheet, readings sheet and a hymn book which you will be given when you arrive (unless you are joining us for a said service!)

The music can be loud as we have a congregation who love to sing, as well as our choir and organ. Occasionally we have a band instead.

Play, create, eat

Each Friday in term time between 5pm and 6.30pm, children in Years 4 to 6 gather in their “Space” to chat, build Lego, create art, model clay, play games and eat pizza. We would love to see you but please register so that we know we have enough pizza!
